How it works

Playroom is a free website with five short skill drills, the kind esports players use to warm up, dressed up in everyday Singapore life. Here is what each drill measures and how your rank is worked out.

What Playroom is

A set of quick, single-player browser drills. No download, no account, no payments, no prizes. You play, you get a rank, you screenshot it and send it to the group chat. That's it.

The five drills

  • Doors Closing (reaction). Tap the moment the panel turns lime. Your score is the average of five tries in milliseconds. Lower is better.
  • Chope! (aim). Hit 20 targets as they appear. Your score is the average time per target in milliseconds. Lower is better.
  • Queue Rush (click speed). Tap as many times as you can in five seconds. Scored in taps per second.
  • Hawker Recall (memory). Repeat a growing sequence of lit-up stalls. Your score is the longest sequence you got right.
  • Kopi Order (typing). Type twelve drink orders. Scored in words per minute, where one word is five characters.

How your score is calculated

Each drill turns your best result into 0 to 100 points. Your Combine score is the average of all five, so a drill you haven't played counts as zero.

Drill0 points100 points
Doors Closing400 ms or slower150 ms or faster
Chope!1,100 ms per target350 ms per target
Queue Rush4 taps/s12 taps/s
Hawker Recall3 steps12 steps

Anything in between scales evenly.

The ranks

RankCombine score
Blur Like Sotong0 to 24
Can Lah25 to 49
Shiok50 to 74
Steady Pom Pi Pi75 to 100

Ranks only show up once you have cleared all five drills. Retry any drill as often as you like; only your best result counts.

A fair warning

Your device matters. A phone screen, a laptop trackpad and a gaming mouse will give different results, and so will a slow browser. Compare with friends on similar setups if you want bragging rights to stick.
